Newfound Lake has been a central part of Dr. Robert L. Pinsonneault’s family for four generations and counting. Since the early Sixties, his household has come to this lake to recreate on, round, and in the lake’s clear waters. Rob’s emotional attachment to Newfound has always fueled a want to explore and defend this place, but it was not till a fortuitous collaboration with Plymouth State University did his scientific curiosity in these waters acquire objective and momentum. Rosemary is a former trustee and president of the Newfound Lake Region Association and current Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Minot-Sleeper Library in Bristol. Rosemary and her husband Herb D’Arcy have been lively members of the Newfound Lake Region Association since its inception and Rosemary has served on the Newfound Land Conservation Partnership since 2012.

Ms. Hirsi Ali joined Assita Kanko, a Member of the European Parliament, FGM survivor, human rights activist and printed writer, to discuss European values versus Islamism in this podcast. Ayaan and Assita are immigrants from Somalia and Burkina Faso, respectively, and have turned their past experiences with Islamism and FGM into activism via politics and writing. Ayaan spoke with journalist Megyn Kelly about her life growing up in Somalia and the differences between her family’s interpretations of Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood, the organization she later joined in her teenage years. Prior to her graduate schooling, she obtained her undergraduate diploma from NYU the place her main focus was inspecting the assorted methods in which girls and ladies are sexualized in American culture. In NY, she worked for two nonprofits which were dedicated to home violence advocacy and vocational counseling for folks recovering from substance abuse. Cali will use her regulation diploma to hitch the battle for gender equity, reproductive justice, and all issues on the intersections of race, class, gender, and sexuality. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music and watching films and television made by queer women.

Tenzing was initially called “Namgyal Wangdi”, but as a baby his name was modified on the advice of the head lama and founder of Rongbuk Monastery, Ngawang Tenzin Norbu. “Tenzing Norgay” interprets as “wealthy-fortunate-follower-of-religion.” His father, a Tibetan yak herder, was Ghang La Mingma (d. 1949), and his mother, who was Tibetan, was Dokmo Kinzom.
